Dupont Metro – Walt Whitman Quote July 12th, 2009
The poem inscribed at the entrance to the Dupont Metro reads:
Thus in silence in dreams’ projections,
Returning, resuming, I thread my way through the hospitals;
The hurt and wounded I pacify with soothing hand,
I sit by the restless all dark night – some are so young;
Some suffer so much – I recall the experience sweet and sad…
- The Wound Dresser from Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, 1876

Ron Mueck’s Big Man July 9th, 2009
This sculpture is terrifying and amazing up close, but a picture doesn’t fully do it justice. It will be on display at the Hirshhorn until November 2009.
